Further investment into the Skelmersdale plant has forced the site to look at work flow and layout issues, as a result construction is underway to provide a further 400 m2 of floor space. The factory extension, due to be completed this August, will be used to house vibration and ultrasonic welding facilities. SUK uses vibration welding to fuse air ducting to the Instrument Panel as part of an overall assembly process for a UK OEM, large ultrasonic machinery is also used to edge wrap back moulded products for use in Door Panels. In addition to the new 2700 ton press the company has also converted a further 1300 ton machine for full RHCM capability (Rapid Hot and Cold Moulding). The Toshiba machine will be used to provide flat screen related products into the Czech Republic at a volume of 20,000 per month. RHCM is an eclusively licenced process used to produce the luxury very high gloss finish withall the advantages of standard injection moulding. |
